The
team at Ash Air are passionate about supporting the continuity of your business 24/7; supporting all aspects of your compressed air and
vacuum systems, with second-to-none service for all brands. Consistently working towards providing absolute compressed air performance for
your operations, we couldn't achieve this without an intregal part of the formula: our ever-important Service Planners!
Here we take a look at the Service Planner role at Ash Air, and the unique function of our team performing the involved tasks, as well a
chat to Julie and Kelly: a couple of amazing Service Planners within the team!
So, what does a Service Planner do?
We have Service Planners in all our main service locations/branches throughout the country. Our team of Planners and Coordinators are the
first in line contact for our customers in need for maintenance and repair. They are responsible for planning the day to day schedules of
our Field Service Engineers, and to organise crucial technical support for our customers.
Next level customer service: How do our Planners make a difference and how do they help your business?
Being the main point of contact for our service customers, they are responsible for helping you, negotiating and agreeing the
interventions terms, and ensuring we honour our service agreements and cover any of our customers requirements! We let you know when your
compressor is ready for its servicing and allowing you to easily work in keeping your compressed air system in optimal condition, around
the clock, 24/7.
Our team provide first line technical support to our customers, managing operational software, generating, and analysing reports related
to our FSE utilisation and work process! We're proud of our dedication to creating a quality service experience from start to finish,
and to help our customers solve their problems. This is why we are considered a business partner by our customers!
What our Service Planners have to say
“When I first took the role of Customer Services Administrator 8 years ago, it was not normal to have a female in this role.
Through my hard work, improving business processes and working smarter, I grew the role and was promoted to Service Planner. Last year
my role grew to include Service Coordinator for Nelson/Marlborough which has one technician. This has put me back on a steeper end of the
learning curve. It has helped that my manager allows me to have the freedom to branch out in my role
.I enjoy the empowerment and freedom to make decisions that better my work life at Ash Air and therefore benefits the team.
]What motivates me? Being able to grow and be flexible in the role. I enjoy interacting with customers from varying types of businesses
as they each have different needs. I like to deliver a positive experience to our customers by being helpful, reliable and easy
to deal with.”
Julie,
Service Planner/Coordinator
“The thing that I enjoy about this role is that I get to build relationships with the customers I book work with - even though I have
never met them in person! You get to know them well and its rewarding.
Within this role there is a lot to learn; it can be challenging at times because there are some things that take a bit longer to
process and learn. For example, what parts to order for a compressor service can be a different from others. And then there are compressors
that you have never heard of before. This where you can collaborate and utilise the knowledge of the people I work with! Our Service
Technicians are full of knowledge, and they help me out a lot! They are the best. This role also relies a lot on being organized and I like
that!
Many things contribute to my motivation: staying positive and seeing the brighter side of life, even when things are bad and not going
so well. My family and friends is what keeps me going as well - they keep me humble and true to myself!”

Who we are!
We’re a leader in our field, part of the largest compressed air company in the world, representing international brands. We have 13
locations throughout New Zealand, providing nationwide coverage, a supportive head office, and a team who are passionate about the
performance of New Zealand’s air compressors and vacuum pumps.
We specialise in the sales, service and installation of compressed air and vacuum equipment, blowers and all ancillary equipment. We offer
excellent working conditions, competitive remuneration, the back up of a leading team, as well as a host of additional benefits.
Ash Air started out as a hire company in 1979. We soon realised a need in New Zealand for a company that specialised in uncompromising
service and quality products. By the mid 1980's we were building oil flooded screw compressors for the New Zealand market. Through organic
and acquisition growth we soon became the largest company in New Zealand specialising in the compressed air and vacuum service and supply
industry.
Today, we are part of a global group who are world leaders in compressed air, and we are proud of our dedication to our customers
operational longevity by offering sustainable products and services that sit in line with our passion for energy efficiency and your
business well-being. More than 9,300 businesses all over New Zealand trust us to set-up, upgrade, and look after their compressed air and
vacuum systems.
Our people are our strength. Here at Ash Air, we welcome and encourage applications from people with a diverse variety of
experiences, backgrounds and identities. We are committed to equality of opportunity and encourage a dedicated, responsible
and conscientious person to apply to join our supportive and dedicated team.
All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence. Applicants for this position must have a full NZ driver’s licence. To
apply for a job you must have the right to live and work in New Zealand; however we can provide assistance and guidance for applicants
with a good proven track record in the Compressed Air Industries from overseas.
For many businesses, preserving energy and becoming more sustainable have become top priorities. That not only saves them money but also
makes them more competitive in the future, when demand for “green” products and services will only increase. Not just because governments
mandate greater sustainability but also because you, our customers expect it. Here, we talk to our experienced Sales Engineer, Romain, who
has a strong background in helping our partners with energy efficient compressed air options to get the most out of their business.
